About Me

Why Should I Read This Blog?

I did it.  I spent 4 years of college grueling over line, texture, spacing, color.  Peter Brook.  Shakespeare.  Van Gogh.  I learned about Source 4's, blind hems, inventory paperwork, line weight, and oil paints.  Surrealism.  Farthingales.  Photoshop.  I have painted a color wheel since graduating high school.  I withstood countless portfolio reviews.

And now I'm here.  A few years post graduation.  Who am I, you ask?  If you knew what all those words at the beginning of this paragraph meant, you can probably guess-- I'm a 20-something with a degree in Theatre (and a minor in Studio Art!)

Although I have been steadily employed since graduation, I can't help but constantly feel like I'm doing something wrong.

Did I make a mistake going into this field?
How do you negotiate a freelance commission?
How do you know if you should go to grad school?
What's the difference between lotion and moisturizer?!

I decided to start this blog because I imagined there were other recent graduates out there who feel similarly, who might appreciate reading (and sharing!) experiences with someone who, although graduated a few years ago at this point, isn't on Broadway yet! (Shocker, I know.)

A Little About Me

I graduated from Ithaca College with a BFA in Theatrical Production Arts with a minor in Studio Art.  Since then, I have been travelling around, working at different theatres in various capacities and working on my artistic skills, and I'm super excited to share my journey with you!
